Cat Recipe – Chicken Breast & Oysters

Diversity is key. Make small batches and rotate through a few recipes.

Each ingredient helps achieve the minimum levels suggested by AAFCO so be careful about varying the amounts too much.

Ingredients:

  • chicken breast skinless boneless ~ 100 gram
  • oysters ~ 20 gram (can use frozen)
  • pork liver ~ 20 gram
  • broccoli ~ 30
  • milk 3.5% fat ~ 30 grams
  • cod liver oil ~ 3 grams
  • wheat germ oil ~ 5 grams
  • dried thyme ~ 5 grams
  • ground turmeric ~ 1 gram
  • ground egg shells ~ 1 gram

Cat Recipe ~ Chicken Breast & Oysters

Serves: approximately 2 days feed for a 10kg lean cat

Ingredients

  • chicken breast skinless boneless ~ 100 gram
  • oysters ~ 20 gram
  • pork liver ~ 20 gram
  • broccoli ~ 30
  • milk 3.5% fat ~ 30 grams
  • cod liver oil ~ 3 grams
  • wheat germ oil ~ 5 grams
  • dried thyme ~ 5 grams
  • ground turmeric ~ 1 gram
  • ground egg shells ~ 1 gram

Instructions

  • steam broccoli till soft then mash
  • dice chicken breast & liver into smaller chunks of the same size
  • oil a pan with a little canola or olive oil then place liver and chicken breasts onto it
  • bake chicken breast and liver till almost cooked
  • add oysters and turn off heat
  • residual heat will finish the cook
  • proteins are at their best when very slightly undercooked
  • when cooled add to a bowl
  • to the bowl add milk, mashed broccoli, dried theme, turmeric, cod liver oil, wheat germ oil and ground egg shells, mixing thoroughly
  • separated portions into feeding bowl / storage container

Feeding Instructions:

  • cats eat small meals throughout a day ~ split one days portion into 2 or 3 meals
  • warm the meal to body temperature before serving (38°C)
  • you can add a teaspoon of tuna flakes, fish oil or butter to change things up with each meal

Storage Instructions:

  • refrigerating ~ store in airtight container – consume within 2 days 
  • freezing ~ good for up to 2 weeks
